One of our most successful years to date, celebrating the remarkable talents of Alderley Edge residents.
The Review
The Alderley Edge Village Show 2025 once again proved to be a vibrant and celebrated event, building on the success of previous years. With over 450 impressive exhibits and a tremendous turnout, hundreds of visitors came together to support their local community.
As always, the creativity and skill on display was exceptional. From intricately crafted entries to beautifully arranged flowers and meticulously grown produce, the quality and variety of submissions reflected the remarkable talents of Alderley Edge residents. The show continues to flourish, with entries improving year on year.
Trophy Winners
This year, 29 trophies were awarded across various categories. Notably Katherine Machin who has had huge success in this years show, winning the highest aggregate in the Flower, Vegetables and preserves categories, showing her skill and dedication across many disciplines; congratulations Katherine. Katherine Machin: Cups for the Highest aggregate in the flower classes, highest aggregate points in the vegetable classes, highest aggregate in the jams, preserves & pickles, the best exhibit in the painting or drawing class, the best dahlia exhibit, the best display of sweet peas, basket of 5 items from cookery classes and finally the winner of 3 vegetables of any kind.
Mike Ockelton: Winner of the 8 Shallots Class.
Sharon Taylor: Newcomers trophy - Highest aggregate points in the Newcomers class.
Jace Beecham: Tallest sunflower and children’s flower arrangement.
Jill Flanagan: Best horticultural exhibit within a 3-mile radius & the best dahlia exhibit.
Katy Lashford: Most meritorious exhibit in domestic crafts.
Ruth Samuels: Best bread exhibit.
Nicky Partington: Victoria Sandwich cup.
Margot Sym: Animal made of Fruit / Vegetable.
Jennifer Cockshot: highest aggregate points in cookery.
Sue Mills: best exhibit in Handicraft classes.
Gabriele Leech: highest aggregate points in Handicraft classes.
Alan Grace: 8 runner beans, 6 dressed onions & best Horticultural exhibit in the show.
Ted Leech: best exhibit in Photography class.
Davis Lewis Centre: The Heaviest Marrow & Heaviest Pumpkin.
Mike Thistleton: The best Gladioli exhibit.
Charitable Efforts
A key highlight this year was the show’s charitable contribution to The Christie Charity. Thanks to the incredible generosity of attendees, £1064 was raised to support the Christies mission of improving patient and carer experiences, funding high-quality research, promoting innovation in services, and supporting staff training to enhance cancer treatment and prevention.

The show’s success would not have been possible without the dedicated judges, who maintained the event's high standards, the hardworking volunteers who made it all happen by giving their time and gifts, the Committee members who work tirelessly to put on this event year on year, to all the individuals who donated various gifts for the raffle and finally the support of local business, their efforts are invaluable to keeping this beloved community tradition alive.
