Alderley Edge Village Show 2026

The 82nd Alderley Edge Village Show took place this year at a new venue in St Philip and St James Church where we welcomed 75 Exhibitors who collectively showed just over 350 entries in a wonderful showcase of talent and creativity.

In the face of challenging summer weather with a prolonged dry spell and extreme heat, our talented growers and makers lovingly prepared fabulous floral displays, giant vegetables, perfect fruits, delicious cakes, bakes and preserves, all sitting alongside a stunning collection of art and crafts.

Thanks to the efforts and commitment not only of our Exhibitors but also our hardworking Volunteers, Café Team and our dedicated Judges, visitors were able to enjoy so many marvellous sights whilst catching up with friends over a hot drink and cake at our Pop-Up Café.

Without every single one of you we would not have a show, we cannot thank you enough for your participation and support. Special thanks also to the local businesses that helped – something we do not take for granted and greatly appreciate, your support is invaluable in keeping this essential community event alive. Trophy Winners

In total, we awarded 25 trophies to 16 recipients at this years’ show – the full list of winners is as follows:

• Myra Warner – Winner of the Best Horticultural Exhibit in the Show; Winner of the Heaviest Marrow; Winner of 5 Decorative Dahlias

• Elaine Ockelton – Winner of the Basket of 5 items from the Cookery Classes; Winner of the Highest Aggregate Points in the Bread Classes; Winner of the Best Exhibit in the Photography Classes

• Ruth Samuels – Winner of 8 Runner Beans; Winner of Highest Aggregate Points in the Jams, Preserves and Pickles

• Rosemary Jay – Winner of 3 Kinds of Vegetables

• Nicola Dickson – Winner of the Most Meritorious Exhibit in the Domestic Crafts

• Sue Mills – Winner of the Best Exhibit in the Handicraft Classes

• David Berrisford – Winner of the Painting or Drawing Class

• Penny Heap – Winner of the 8 Shallots Class

• Sophie John – Winner of the Highest Aggregate Points in the Newcomers Class

• Tristan Tang – Winner of an Animal made from Fruit/Vegetables (under 12 years)

The Parish Councils’ Shell Trophy for Front Gardens Competition was awarded during the show to Mr & Mrs Shaw. Congratulations to all of you!

Charitable Efforts

Every year a key aim of the show is to raise funds for charity. Our chosen charity for 2026 is The North West Air Ambulance. Thanks to your incredible generosity, we are delighted to confirm a donation of £1000 to help power their next lifesaving mission, enabling their highly skilled crew of critical care Paramedics and Doctors to provide pre-hospital care and treatment to the most critically ill and unwell people in our community.
